Epic, uplifting & beautiful

Ahhh... this is music to my ears.  This dramatically epic track from Foals, an indie rock band from the lovely Oxford, has been featured in trailers for Entourage, Skins, Outcast and Misfits. Their 2010 album Total Life Forever was nominated for teh 2010 Mercury Prize and five NME awards, including Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Album, Best Track and Best Album artwork.  No convincing required, I'm in love.

Kustom summer fun

I wish my friends and I looked this glamorous on our road trips!  Ours involve more empty pringles cans, suncreen and worn-out maps than braids, cute hats and pretty meadows. That said, they are always SO fun, and this great new lookbook from Kustom Shoes for their summer 2011 range is just that. Fun. Love it.

Yay to super talented New Zealand designers.. More amazing stuff coming from down south in the form of "The Morning after the Night Before", the new winter collection from the gorgeous Juliette Hogan.  A stunning collection of garments that make me feel like hosting a dinner party.. or roaming some magnificent mountains in NZ with a cropped tee and riding pants.. either way, she made my day. x

Tis a scenic world after all..

There's something so happy and uplifting about this track from Beirut, an indie folk outfit from NY... some serious talent combined with a trumpet from Paris, a farfisa organ, an accordion, a piano, a ukelele, the mandolin, a glockenspielviolin, a cello, a tambourine, an air powered organ bought on twelth street, a Congo drum donated from their neighbors and 1 broken microphone stolen from the university of new mexico makes this track simply amazing. x

Whether we plan to marry or not, there is nothing like the feeling of seeing someone's wedding pictures and how (in some cases) they so perfectly capture those moments of love and happiness. I stumbled across the blog of Brandon Kidd, a husband and wife duo that bring an "organic timelessness to their images". So true. I love them!
